A Musical Journey to the Caribbean

Experience joyous music of Latin America such as the rumba, bomba, plena, and Dominican merengue. Musicians from the renowned globetrotting, Latin American jazz combo Mango Blue take students on an interactive musical tour of the Caribbean as they play the rhythms of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic on a variety of musical instruments. Students participate by singing along, clapping rhythms, trying out percussion instruments, and dancing while exploring the unique fusion of Spanish, African, and Native American cultures that is Latin music.

Latin Music Master Class for Music Students

Manguito’s master classes give young musicians a chance to step deeper into to the world of Afro-Latin music. Music students will try their hands at producing rhythms from a variety of Latin music styles, including the rumba, bomba, plena, and merengue.

Master Class Length: 45-60 minutes
Participants: 30 students Price: $125 per master class (includes one artist)
